- 4 slices of bread (your choice of type)
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 slices cooked bacon
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh chives for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until it begins to sizzle.
- Crack the eggs into the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook to your desired level of doneness.
- While the eggs are cooking, place a slice of bread on a flat surface. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the bread.
- Once the eggs are cooked, place them on top of the cheese-covered bread slices.
- Lay a slice of cooked bacon on each egg-covered slice of bread.
- Top each sandwich with another slice of bread.
- Carefully transfer the sandwiches to the skillet and cook until the bread is golden brown, and the cheese is melted, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- If necessary, press the sandwiches down with a spatula to ensure even cooking.
