  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs large size preferred
  • 4 oz bacon, cooked and crumbled use crispy bacon for best texture
  • 0.5 cup maple syrup pure maple syrup is recommended

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and eggs until blended. Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Fold in the crumbled bacon and maple syrup gently into the batter.
  • Spoon the batter into a donut stick pan or shape them into sticks on the baking sheet, ensuring even spacing. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Once baked, allow the sticks to cool for a few minutes before drizzling with extra maple syrup or sprinkling with additional bacon bits for garnish. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

These donut sticks are best enjoyed fresh out of the oven, but they can be stored in an airtight container for a day or two.
