Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter Smooth peanut butter works best for a consistent texture.
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar Packed brown sugar adds moisture and a rich flavor.
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter Make sure it's softened for easier mixing.
  • 2 large eggs Eggs should be at room temperature for better blending.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Sifted flour contributes to a lighter texture.
  • 1 tsp baking powder Helps the bars rise nicely.
  • 0.5 tsp salt Enhances the peanut butter flavor.
  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips Use semi-sweet chocolate for a nice balance.

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan. In a large bowl, cream together the peanut butter, softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the peanut butter mixture until fully combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let them cool in the pan before slicing into bars.

Notes

These bars can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Feel free to experiment with different types of chocolate or nuts!
