Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb ground beef You can substitute ground turkey for a leaner option.
  • 1 cup bread crumbs Use plain or Italian seasoned for added flavor.
  • 0.5 cup green onions Chopped, for garnish or mixing into meatballs.
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce Low sodium is a good choice for less salt.
  • 0.5 cup hoisin sauce This lends a lovely sweetness.
  • 0.25 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Start by mixing the ground beef with breadcrumbs, green onions, garlic powder, ginger, and black pepper in a large bowl until everything is well combined. Form into bite-sized meatballs and set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ketchup, and sesame oil to create a sweet and tangy sauce.
  • Place the meatballs into your slow cooker, then pour the sauce over the top, making sure they are evenly coated.
  • Cover and cook on low for about 3 hours, or until the meatballs are fully cooked and tender.
  • Once done, serve the meatballs hot, garnished with extra green onions if desired. Enjoy this delightful dish with rice or on their own!

Notes

These meatballs are great for meal prep and can be stored in the fridge for a few days. They also freeze well for future meals!
